Las Piñas City Launches Better, More Interactive Website
August 23, 2007
The Las Piñas City government headed by Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar keeps up with the information age and the internet revolution by unveiling recently a much-improved and interactive website accessible at laspinascity.gov.ph.
Mayor Aguilar said the website is a valuable reference tool for researchers, students and other people wanting to know more about Las Piñas, one of the most multi-awarded, progressive cities in Metro Manila. The information portal also provides an alternative way by which residents and constituents of the city can communicate with incumbent and duly-appointed officials on certain concerns in their locality that need to be addressed immediately.
Residents can do so by using the ‘Contact’ or email form in the website which the Mayor and the City Information Office accesses, and responds to, on a regular basis.
“Las Piñas City, under my leadership, will always look for efficient, creative means to improve the delivery of services to the people and communicate effectively with them and the outside world. The website is an excellent way of doing so because studies show that most people today get their information from the internet and other electronic media,” Mayor Aguilar said.
He added that the official website demonstrates the policy of transparency and accountability which his administration strongly subscribes to. Through the site, readers will be acquainted with the public service projects of the Aguilar leadership as well as the latest news in the city made available through officially-issued press and photo releases.
Also found in the site are important information about the City of Las Piñas such as its history, fact sheet, programs, tourist destinations, calendar of activities and directory of various City Hall offices. People who want to do business or study in Las Piñas will find the site useful because of its comprehensive listings and step-by-step guide.
The site also provides a link to the the Office and legislative programs of Las Piñas City Congresswoman Cynthia Villar as well as the legacy of former Mayor, now First Lady Imelda T. Aguilar who is known for pushing the city’s much-lauded Clean & Green program. (end)
