More school buildings, improved social services for Las Piñas residents
June 20, 2007
Las Piñas City, MM - Las Piñas newly elected mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar said that construction of three story school buildings as well as provision of basic social services like education, health care, clean and green environment, as well as housing for the most underpreviledged residents’ and peace and order will be his administration flagship projects during his three year term.
Aguilar issued the statement after the oath-taking ceremonies held recently at the city as he will he assume his post this coming July.
Aguilar said construction of school buildings will be the banner project during his administration aimed primarily to provide the necessary basic education to thousands of schoolchildren in the city.
Likewise, he will continue to expand the basic social services like free hospitalization program currently enjoyed by indigent and minimum wage earners.
At the same time, Aguilar promised to construct and improve the city’s health and day care centers to service more residents and their children to complement the growing population.
Nene said the move is consistent with former City Mayor Imelda Aguilar priority program to improve and uplift the living conditions of the city residents especially during these time of economic difficulty.
“The people of Las Pinas deserve a free and quality services worthy of their continued support and trust to my administration,” Aguilar said who won unopposed during the recently concluded mid-term elections.
Nene said he will pursue the flagship projects despite the limited budget and resources, as he assured residents that such projects will be realized in line with the administration’s policy of prudent spending of taxpayers money.
He underscored that peace and order in the city will be strictly monitored as he warned that those found to be engaged in anti-social activities shall be dealt with accordingly. This he said is aimed to maintain the city’s image as a safe, peaceful and environmentally-friendly place to live in.
